Everyone involved did their best to inform us while working via 3rd or 4th person info and being scared of privacy laws.

Even if these questions aren't answered I think having these questions help us, as foster parents, to sort through what we may end up dealing with.

Hurting animals was something I never considered before a worker mentioned it, but sure enough our little guy tries to beat the cat every time he sees it. That doesn't compare to the child someone told us about that put a cat in the microwave. Yes, scary stuff.jendoophttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01010044127553834584noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8925959104562250919.post-1636769081708578702010-10-03T20:46:00.815-07:002010-10-03T20:46:00.815-07:00#12 would freak me out too!!#12 would freak me out too!!FootPrintshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01244305923585144422noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8925959104562250919.post-65572092408166499942010-10-03T15:44:21.474-07:002010-10-03T15:44:21.474-07:00I hear ya, Maggie & Jen. It's hard to decide if a placement is a right fit for your family when you know next to nothing about the child, in which case we go with our gut feeling and pray about it.Maryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12151910762502998483noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8925959104562250919.post-57978491038545138432010-10-03T15:01:46.281-07:002010-10-03T15:01:46.281-07:00We got the same list in our foster class. I think it would have been helpful for our trainers to also be more realistic about what information we would be able to have!Maggiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06860950875210789260noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8925959104562250919.post-41005694202245532022010-10-03T11:23:30.493-07:002010-10-03T11:23:30.493-07:00Thank you for sharing these questions. But looking back on the two placements we had, they knew virtually nothing about either child or family so we had to wing it each time (both were emergency placements). Definitely tough - but maybe this will help next time.Richards Familyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05586020350739946374noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8925959104562250919.post-86667742102307591702010-10-03T05:32:29.331-07:002010-10-03T05:32:29.331-07:00We've had our first foster child for almost tw...We've had our first foster child for almost two months and reading these questions almost made me laugh thinking back on my naiveté just two months ago. These questions are a base, but by no means count on any of the answers - ESPECIALLY if you do emergency placements. While I did get answers to many of these questions all but the age and sex of the child changed. Although, because the parents won't allow his hair to be cut many people assume he's a girl ;)jendoophttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01010044127553834584noreply@blogger.com
